A first look at Liverpool’s new international hub for the independent music sector

Join H.O.M.E and Liverpool City Region Music Board for the official launch event and first preview of H.O.M.E’s brand-new Liverpool venue.

Following the announcement of H.O.M.E Liverpool, this event will give the region’s music community one of its first opportunities to experience the new space, hear more about H.O.M.E’s vision and discover what the hub will offer to artists, entrepreneurs, music businesses and innovators.

The afternoon will bring together music professionals, businesses, creators, support organisations and industry partners for a programme of discussion, insight, networking and practical business support.

Discover H.O.M.E Liverpool

H.O.M.E has been established to support the growth of independent music businesses by creating opportunities for collaboration, innovation, investment and international trade.

Its new Liverpool venue will provide a base for entrepreneurs, music technology companies, record labels, publishers, managers, creators and investors looking to develop new ideas, build commercial partnerships and access wider markets.

The Liverpool hub joins H.O.M.E’s growing international network and will host industry networking events, investor showcases, international trade delegations, business development programmes and collaborative innovation projects.

Attendees will hear directly from the H.O.M.E team about the vision for the new venue, the opportunities it will create and how businesses and individuals can become involved in future programmes and activities.

Conversations about the future of music

The event will feature a series of discussions exploring the opportunities, challenges and developments shaping the future of Liverpool’s music sector.

Jon Collins, Chair of Liverpool City Region Music Board and CEO of LIVE (Live music Industry Venues and Entertainment), will host an informal conversation about the future of music, featuring influential guests from the local music sector.

The discussion will explore the opportunities available to artists, entrepreneurs and music businesses across the city region, as well as the support, partnerships and activity helping to drive growth in the sector.

As part of the programme, Liverpool City Region Music Board will also launch its Principles on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Music.

Developed in consultation with the sector and informed by the Music Board’s recent AI in Music Survey, the principles aim to help artists, businesses and organisations navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by AI and other emerging technologies.

Business support, partnerships and opportunities

Attendees will be able to connect with organisations supporting the music sector and learn more about funding, development and growth opportunities available across Liverpool City Region.

The event will feature contributions from Music Technology UK, MusicFutures, LIVE Trust and other industry partners helping to support and invest in the sector’s future growth.

Music Technology UK, a key partner of H.O.M.E Liverpool, will outline how it is working with the hub to connect music technology businesses with workspace, networks, innovation opportunities and sector support.

A range of support organisations will also attend in a marketplace-style format, providing opportunities to ask questions and learn more about current programmes, business support initiatives and routes to growth.

As H.O.M.E’s new Liverpool venue opens its doors, the event will provide an opportunity for the local music community to influence its future activity, identify the types of support that would add value to the sector and hear about upcoming events, programmes and opportunities to become involved.

THE FUTURE OF MUSIC @ H.O.M.E is free to attend, but advance booking is required.

This event is delivered through the Business Support Service at Liverpool City Council which provides fully-funded support to existing businesses based in Liverpool. This project is funded by the Local Growth Fund with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority.
