Help Musicians

Fast Track Fund

Musicians are able to apply for a short-term fund of £500 throughout the year to support opportunities.
Artists may spend the money on things such as a short course, investing in new software, or taking opportunities to record, release or perform that will help you to fulfil your ambition.

This financial support can go towards anything from courses, networking opportunities and equipment to costs associated with recording, releasing and performing. See a full list of what you can and can’t spend the grant on here.

PRS Foundation

Early Career Promoter Fund

Early Career Promoter Fund recognises the vital role independent promoters play in supporting the talent pipeline across England, and offers grant funding and capacity building support, with the aim of bolstering the local, regional and national ecosystems.

Grants of up to £3,500 will be available to support a range of activity – book and promote shows to develop scenes, support artists and DJs and to reach and engage audiences locally, regionally, and nationally, and build sustainable careers in the grassroots music sector.

This fund has several rounds /deadlines each year

Arts Council England

Supporting Grassroots Music

This fund has been allocated specifically to support rehearsal and recording studios, promoters, festivals, and venues for live and electronic music performance such as grassroots music venues and club sector organisations to apply for support for projects that help them bring live and electronic music to the public and and support the development of talent.

You can apply for between £1,000 and £40,000, for projects up to three years in length. If you need to apply for more than £40,000, you can still apply to the main Project Grants programme for activity that delivers grassroots music activity.

National Lottery Project Grants is our open access programme for arts, museums and libraries projects. The fund supports thousands of individual artists, community and cultural organisations.

The fund will focus on the needs of smaller independent organisations and individual practitioners

Pirate & Small Green Shoots (supported by The National Lottery Community Fund)

Studios For All Fund

The Studios for All Fund provides free studio access for charities, CICs and not-for-profits that use music to empower young people under 30 from underrepresented or disadvantaged communities.

Through Pirate’s nationwide network of 600+ rehearsal, recording, DJ, podcast and dance studios, organisations can apply for in-kind support worth between £100 and £2,000+. The programme is designed to remove barriers such as cost, lack of facilities and limited technical expertise, giving more young people access to professional creative spaces, skills and community connections.

PRS Foundation

The Open Fund For Music Creators

The Open Fund for Music Creators supports the development of outstanding music creators of all genres and backgrounds at different stages of their career with grants of up to £5000. Previous recipients include Young Fathers, Afrodeutsche, Jasdeep Singh and Ruth Lyon

In order to be eligible Music Creators’ projects must fulfil all three of our funding priorities:

  • To support the creation, performance and promotion of outstanding new music in any genre
  • To enable the UK’s most talented music creators to realise their potential
  • To reach audiences

Free live music and events training – The Sound Check programme

Do you love live music?

SOUND CHECK is an exciting training programme from The Learning Foundry and Future Yard, designed to introduce people to the skills that will help them pursue a successful and sustainable career behind the scenes in the live music industry.

Sound Check is open to anyone aged 16+ in the Liverpool City Region, or 19+ in various locations across the North West with a passion for live music and an interest in making it their career. The course is free to access and no previous experience is required.
