Research to map Black music creatives, and Black led music businesses and organisations

Calling all Black musicians, performers, Black led music businesses and organisations working across Liverpool City Region!

In her role as Chair of the Black Music Action Group as part of the Liverpool City Region music board, Jennifer John is currently carrying out a mapping exercise of all of the Black led music businesses and organisations, as well as Black creatives who are actively working in the music sector, to discover and report on who they are and what they do.

This is being carried for the following reasons:

• To have a clear insight into Black involvement in the music sector so that the distribution of marketing information and opportunities and is shared more fairly.
• To raise awareness and gain better insight into Black music activity and skills set landscapes, in order to improve the development of the Black music infrastructure.

Jennifer will be holding conversations with all who respond, either in person or online.
